Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChamLens ("the app"), a mobile expense tracking application developed by Renerp Dev ("we", "us", or "our"). By using ChamLens, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ChamLens, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

ChamLens is a personal finance application that allows you to:

Track expenses manually or by scanning receipts and QR invoices
Categorize and organize your spending
View spending insights and analytics
Export your data as CSV
Receive optional daily reminders to log expenses

ChamLens is a local-first application. Your expense data is stored on your device and is not automatically backed up to our servers.

3. Account Registration

To use ChamLens, you must create an account using one of the supported authentication methods (Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email/password). You are responsible for:

Providing accurate account information
Maintaining the security of your account credentials
All activity that occurs under your account

4. Your Data

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all expense data, receipts, and financial records you create in ChamLens. We do not claim any rights to your content.

Local Storage

Your expense data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data and cannot recover it if lost. You are responsible for backing up your data using the CSV export feature.

Server-Side Data

Minimal account data (name, email, avatar, preferences) is stored on our servers for authentication and profile persistence. Merchant reference data from QR scans may be shared to help other users. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Data Deletion

You can delete your local data at any time through Settings → Storage → Clear All Data. To delete your account and all server-side data, contact us at hello@renerp.dev.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the app for any illegal purpose
Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Interfere with or disrupt the app's servers or infrastructure
Submit false or misleading merchant data through QR scanning
Use automated systems to access the app

6. Merchant Data Contributions

When you scan a QR invoice and provide a merchant name, this information may be shared with other ChamLens users to improve automatic merchant recognition. By contributing merchant data, you confirm that:

The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
You have the right to share this information
The data does not contain personal or sensitive information beyond business names and categories

7. AI Features and Insights

ChamLens provides AI-generated spending insights and receipt extraction. These features:

Are provided for informational purposes only
Should not be relied upon for financial, tax, or legal decisions
May contain errors or inaccuracies
Are computed locally on your device unless you opt into premium cloud-based processing

We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated insights.

8. Push Notifications

ChamLens may send push notifications for daily expense reminders. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through Settings → Reminders or your device's system settings.

9. Third-Party Services

ChamLens integrates with third-party services for authentication and infrastructure. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

10. Intellectual Property

ChamLens, including its design, code, icons, and branding, is the intellectual property of Renerp Dev. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without our written permission.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

ChamLens is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated insights
Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Security of locally stored data against device loss or theft

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renerp Dev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

Loss of data stored locally on your device
Inaccurate receipt extraction or expense categorization
Service interruptions or unavailability
Unauthorized access to your account
Any other use of or inability to use the app

13. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue ChamLens at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of ChamLens after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
